Mohala ka bobebe - Prepaid Mobile Package


The following terms and conditions apply to the Vodacom Mohala ka Bobebe, a Prepaid Mobile Package (“the Package”). Subscribers should read these Terms carefully as they will be binding to them from the time of the application for a Prepaid Mobile Package.

  1. The Package
    1. This is a Package offered by Vodacom Lesotho (“Vodacom”) whereby subscribers can purchase 4G capable smartphones bundled with daily integrated bundles, outlined under Term 4 below.
    2. The package can be payable over 3,6,9 or 12 months.
  2. Eligibility
    1. This Package is available to all Prepaid subscribers.
  3. How to purchase the Package
    1. A subscriber shall opt into/ register for the package through the USSD code *148# and shall be provided with an outline of the package offers they qualify for.
    2. If they qualify, they shall be provided with a list of subscription plans to choose from ranging between 3, 6, 9, and 12 months, and the option of making daily, weekly, or monthly payments.
    3. Upon selection of the preferred subscription plan, they shall pay a 30% upfront deposit and shall be allocated integrated bundles within 24 hours of the device deposit.
    4. Upon payment of the deposit, a subscriber will be allocated the daily integrated bundles under section 4 below.
  4. Integrated bundles

  5. Terms for the use of Integrated bundles - Bundle allocation and validity
    1. The integrated bundles shall be allocated daily for the subsistence of the payment period.
    2. The bundles shall expire 24 hours from the time of allocation.
    3. The calling bundles shall apply locally and on-net only.
    4. The bundles shall cease to be allocated upon the end of the subscription period.
    5. The Integrated bundles are not transferrable.
  6. Payment Terms - A fixed fee over the period selected by the customer
    1. Payment for the service shall be either daily, weekly, or monthly depending on the package they have selected.
    2. The subscribers shall be required to pay a 30% upfront payment towards the cost of their device of choice.
    3. Deposit Payments shall be made through cash or M-pesa, thereafter a subscriber shall complete a formal application at a Vodacom Retail store.
    4. All Cash payments must be made at Vodacom Retail stores; with M-pesa a subscriber has the option to make their payments without going to the Store.
    5. Payments for the bundles shall be included in the first installment of the package in line with the subscriber's chosen plan.
    6. The daily payments shall be due daily from the day of deposit.
    7. The weekly payment shall be due on the 8th day from the day of deposit.
    8. The monthly payment shall be due on the 30th day from the day of deposit.
    9. Customers who have opted for a monthly payment plan shall pay their installment on the 30th day from the day of deposit.
    10. Bundles will not be allocated at the last payment as a subscriber will have received the same upon payment of the device deposit, which will have happened before their first installment payment.
    11. Where subscribers fail to make a subscription payment, they shall not receive integrated bundles.
    12. There shall be no penalty or interest accrued for non-payment.
    13. Where subscribers default on their subscription payment, the subscription period shall be extended to cover the missed payment.
    14. Subscribers shall have the option to settle the outstanding amount on their subscription anytime.
    15. Subscribers shall be able to pay for themselves and others and vice versa (other subscribers can pay for them)
    16. In the event of non-payment of due installments, subscribers shall have a grace period to make payment, during which no bundles will be allocated to the subscriber. The grace period shall be provided upon the subscriber’s request. Non-payment beyond the grace period will lead to non-allocation of the bundles and the locking of a device until a subscriber makes payment.
  7. Application
    1. Subscribers shall apply for the package through either their M-PESA Account by following the USSD commands and prompts, or they may also go into a Vodacom Store, for assistance with the process.
    2. For M-PESA applications, the subscribers’ M-PESA Account Information may be required to the extent deemed necessary and/or the law requires to make the decision on subscribers’ application. Failure to provide such information within the required time frame may result in a decline or delay in an application.
    3. Vodacom reserves the right, without assigning any reason, to approve or decline an application.
    4. An acceptance or decline of a subscriber’s application shall be communicated through an SMS sent to the applying subscriber’s number.
  8. Device Terms
    1. Devices shall be collected at the nearest Vodacom retail store. Subscribers will need a form of identification and proof of deposit of the selected device (M-pesa transaction or cash receipt).
    2. Devices are always sold subject to the manufacturer’s limited warranty.
    3. Devices once purchased cannot be returned to any Vodacom shop for any reason other than what is covered under the warranty. Subscribers are therefore expected to pay for the loan in full within the terms. Loss or damage to the device will NOT be accepted as a reason to default on payment.
  9. Delivery Terms
    1. Upon completion of the formal Application, subscribers shall be assigned a reference number in the form of a Z- account.
    2. Subscribers shall need to present their proof of identity at the Vodacom Stores when picking up their device.
    3. Collection by of the Device from the designated participating Vodacom Shop will constitute delivery by to the subscribers of the Device.
    4. No third party shall be allowed to pick the device on behalf of the qualifying subscriber.
  10. Termination Terms
    1. A subscriber has the right to end the Agreement before the end of the scheduled Term by notifying Vodacom in writing at least thirty (30) days before termination or by making payment of all outstanding and unpaid amounts.
    2. A subscriber who shall terminate the Agreement early must pay the sum of any due Amounts still owing and all other Payment Obligations and other unpaid amounts due under the Agreement.
    3. We may terminate the Agreement at any time before the end of the scheduled Term if the Device is a total loss or if the subscriber defaults in payment.
    4. Subscribers shall be permitted to make payment in advance of any Payment Obligations or part thereof at any time before the due date of the last scheduled payment, without penalty upon payment to Vodacom. Advance payments will be credited to the subscriber's M-PESA account accordingly. Advance payments may not extend the Agreement term in any way.
  11. Device Locking
    1. Our technology allows for the locking of devices remotely. By signing the Agreement, the subscriber specifically acknowledges and agrees that the Device Locking System shall be embedded in their Device, and they further consent to the locking of their device.
    2. The device shall be locked as a consequence of a breach of the terms and conditions of the package agreement during the time that the default continues.
  12. Privacy
    1. We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of the information we collect from subscribers.
    2. Our privacy statement, as updated from time to time, explains how we treat personal information, who we share information with, and measures taken to protect it.
    3. Vodacom Privacy Statement is found on our website, please reach Vodacom on any of customer care channels to receive a copy.
    4. Vodacom is committed to treating the personal information obtained confidentially and keeping it secure.
    5. Subscribers hereby expressly consent and authorize Vodacom to disclose received records or utilize personal information or data relating to their M-PESA Account in relation to the Agreement. Information may be provided:
      1. to and from our service providers, dealers, agents, or any other company that may be or become our affiliate subsidiary or holding company for reasonable commercial purposes relating to the agreement.
      2. to a Credit Reference Bureau.
      3. to independent debt-collection agencies.
      4. to our lawyers, auditors, or other professional advisors or any court or arbitration tribunal in connection with any legal or audit proceedings.
      5. for reasonable commercial purposes connected to the Agreement, such as marketing and research-related activities; and
      6. in business practices including but not limited to quality control, training, and ensuring effective systems operation.
      7. if we are legally required to do so, e.g., law enforcement, the Authority, etc.
    6. Subscribers authorize Vodacom to disclose, respond, advise exchange, and communicate the details or information about the Agreement to third parties involved in the administration of their M-PESA Account updating of databases, or provision of user support.
    7. Subscribers have the obligation to notify the nearest Vodacom Shop of any changes to their Personal Information in writing or update the same through the USSD including but not restricted to their name and address.
    8. Vodacom shall process subscribers' Personal Information to the extent that it is adequate and necessary for the relevant purposes referred to and our Privacy Policy, which can be found at (www.vodacom.co.ls).
  13. Extension of Terms
    1. These Terms and Conditions are supplemental to and subject to the published Vodacom Prepaid Service Terms and Conditions available on (www.vodacom.co.ls)
    2. If there are any terms that you do not understand, contact Vodacom Contact Center 114 or visit the nearest participating Vodacom store.
    3. Vodacom reserves the right to amend or vary these terms and conditions or to withdraw the Service at any time.
